What is the Butyl Rubber Mastic?

YTM Makina Butyl Rubber Mastic is composed of butyl rubber, synthetic resins and plasticisers. Its high malleability allows it to be moulded by hand into a compact, uniform profile over pinholes, weld beads and other imperfections before the anti-corrosion tape is applied.

It protects buried and submerged pipes, fittings, bends, tees, flanges and valves with operating temperatures up to 70 °C, and meets EN 12068 Class C50 requirements when used with the YTM EN 12068 C50 tape system. It is also used to repair coating defects and to fill gaps at the socket connections of water pipes.
